LOCAL GUEST SPEAKER ROBERT ROGERS TO OPEN PARISH MISSION

Robert Rogers - St. ThereseSt. Therese Catholic Church, 2304 Lower Huntington Rd., Fort Wayne, will hold a Parish Mission beginning Sunday, March 5 through Wednesday, March 8, for all parishioners, family, friends and guests. The public also is welcome.

The theme of the Mission is “Be Thankful in All Things.”

The four-evening event will feature local Guest Speaker Robert Rogers, faith-sharing talks, reconciliation and a closing Mass with the homily by Father Ben Muhlenkamp, pastor of Saint Louis Besancon Parish, near New Haven.

Childcare is available for children age 10 and under March 5 and 6. Anyone needing transportation should call the parish office at 747-9139.

At 7:15 p.m., Rogers, founder of “Mighty in the Land Ministry,” will speak about “Being Thankful in All Things,” knowing God and living a life of “no regrets” with his words and original music at the piano. In August 2003, Rogers experienced a tragedy of Biblical proportions when his wife and all four children died in a flash flood in Kansas late one Saturday night.

On Monday, March 6 at 7:00 p.m., in St. Therese Church beginning with an opening prayer, three lay-people will address the congregation with short, faith-sharing talks based on Sacred Scripture. Each talk will be followed by an appropriate hymn. The evening will close with prayer.

On Tuesday, March 7, after an opening song, a reconciliation service will be held by Father Lawrence Teteh, C.S.Sp. pastor at 7:00 p.m., followed by an opportunity for individual confession.

The Parish Mission will close on Wednesday, March 8, with a Mass at 7:00 p.m. by Father Teteh, celebrant, and the homily by Father Muhlenkamp, concelebrant.
