GREAT PROSTATE CANCER CHALLENGE
A fun and challenging run through Fort Wayne’s beautiful Wildwood Park neighborhood on the near west side off West Jefferson and Ardmore happened on Sunday, October 2, 2011. The inaugural 5K race kicked off at 8:30am from the Portage Middle School. Enjoying the fall colors through one of Fort Wayne’s historic neighborhoods were over 300 participants. A pancake breakfast provided by IHop Restaurant was served by Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana following the race.
Northeast Indiana Urology organized the Great Prostate Cancer Challenge – Fort Wayne event, a 5K Race to support ZERO — The Project to End Prostate Cancer. The GPCC is part of a national initiative designed to raise funds for prostate cancer research and community awareness.
Mitch Harper was the race director-organizing, designing and marking the course. Race results can be viewed on runindiana.com.
