On February 15, Daisy Girl Scout Troop #67 from St. John the Baptist kindergarten class made a trip to the Villa of the Woods to visit with the senior citizen residents. Prior to the visit, the girls worked very hard to make some beautiful Valentine’s Day cards to distribute to the residents, as well as learned two “Valentine” themed songs.

Upon arrival, the Daisies, leaders and parents got acquainted with the residents. There was even a lady there who was a Girl Scout when she was a young girl and she brought all her old badges that she had earned. They were amazing and looked so different from what we have today! The girls then passed out their Valentines, sang a couple of songs, shared cookies and juice, and visited with our new friends. You could really see it in the eyes of the residents and the staff how much they enjoyed having us there.

The girls will be earning their purple and spring green petals for showing respect to others and for being considerate and caring.
