LET’S HEAR IT FOR THE HEROES
On Monday, November 10th, 2003 the Waynedale Elementary School choir, under the direction of Karen Pose, observed Veterans Day by singing in patriotic theme. This is the first annual Veterans Day Event put together by Principal Dave Yard and Jennifer Sprague. “We just wanted to do something to honor local veterans,” said Principal Dave Yard. “We feel it is important for the kids to get a sense of patriotism and the cost of freedom.”
Speakers at this event included veterans from American Legion Post #241-Gary Lloyd and Tom Mallott Korean War Veterans, and World War II Veteran Burt DePue.
