KAMPFIRE KOOKIN’

BOY SCOUT LAZY DAY SOUP

 

2 cups water

4 cups chopped cabbage

1 cup potatoes (diced)

1/2 cup onion (chopped)

1 (12 oz) can evaporated milk

3 tbsp. Flour

1/8 tsp. Black pepper salt to taste

2 to 3 sliced crisp bacon (crumbled)

1/4 cup Parmesan cheese

Add chopped green onion tops for extra flavor and color.

 

In a #12 Dutch oven, combine water, cabbage, potatoes, and onion. Bring to a boil and simmer for 10 to 12 minutes. Blend milk and flour together in a separate container. Pour milk mixture into pot with cabbage. Stir to combine. Add pepper, salt, bacon, and Parmesan cheese. Simmer until mixture thickens. Will feed two Boy Scouts or 4 adults.
