POPULAR USF CHRISTMAS EVENT EXPANDING
Those who attended Christmas in the Castle at the University of Saint Francis last year will enjoy expanded hours and some new procedures to streamline processes for the greater enjoyment of everyone.
Christmas in the Castle will be open from noon-6 p.m. on December 3 and 4 and December 10 and 11. Tours during the two weekends will begin at the Pope John Paul II Center on the east side of campus, where free parking is available. Visitors with reservations, as well as those purchasing tickets the day of their visit, will check in at the lounge area in the building’s lobby. Parking lot signs will direct visitors to the check-in area.
Timed tickets and the chance to purchase tickets by mail or online are also available this year. Ticket cost is $5 per person and $20 for a family of six. Those who wish to purchase tickets online can do so at sf.edu/christmas.
Interested people can also purchase tickets by mail by mailing a check with name, address, phone number and number of tickets desired, specifying their choice of date and time of tour (noon, 12:45, 1:30, 2:15, 3, 3:45, 4:30, or 5:15 p.m.) to: Office of Development, University of Saint Francis, 2701 Spring St., Fort Wayne, IN 46808 by November 23. Tickets can also be purchased on the days of the event.
The Spring Street bridge is under construction, so motorists should choose alternate routes to the USF campus. A map with multiple routes and detailed information on Christmas in the Castle, as well as a range of other USF Christmas activities, is also available at sf.edu /christmas.
Christmas in the Castle opens beautifully restored Brookside, former home of Fort Wayne industrialist John Bass, to the public. The mansion is decorated each Christmas by local florists and designers. All floors are open for the public tours.
Brookside and all campus buildings are accessible to people with physical disabilities.
