STAR FINANCIAL HELPS FIGHT AGAINST CANCER
Scott’s Food & Pharmacy, on October 20, 2004 donated a check for $188,000 to the American Cancer Society, Cancer Services of Allen County and Riley Children’s Foundation. This check represents the proceeds from Scott’s 26th annual Cancer Day, its first ever Cancer Week Round Up and the Scott’s Pro Am Classic Golf Tournament.
On Wednesday, October 6, Claudia Casiano, branch manager from Star Financial Bank bagged groceries to help Scott’s fight cancer. The stores donated 2% of its total day’s sales to the American Cancer Society. For six days afterward, Scott’s customers were given the opportunity to round up their total to the nearest dollar, donating the extra money to the fight against cancer.
