ALL IN: You Are One Decision Away from a Totally Different Life
by Mark Batterson
Zondervan Publishers, 978-0-310-33305-0
HB, 192 pages

Changing your entire life begins with one small decision. All In is about laying down your life for Christ with every action, including working ethically, witnessing boldly, sharing sacrificially, and teaching willingly. Each chapter is packed with biblical truths about what it looks like to stand out in faith. All In dares Christians to live sacrificially, focusing on the will of God instead of personal desire. This requires an active prayer life, personal discipline, and a life oriented toward obedience to the Lord.

On the negative side, there are various clichés that take away from the potency of certain chapters, and the writing is not exceptional. However, this is made up for in the content, which is related through powerful anecdotes and Bible verses. Batterson is the lead pastor of National Community Church. He holds a doctorate from Regent University. Any Christian looking to be more dedicated will be deeply challenged by this book.

Review written by Joseph Duncan who is a professional writing major at Taylor University. His freelance writings appear in The Echo and Church Libraries.
