GERALDINE “GERRY” ANKER
GERALDINE “GERRY” ANKER passed away at home on December 11, 2012. She was the daughter of Carl Roland Pelfrey and Ola Howard Pelfrey Rhoades.
Born at Calla, Kentucky (White Oak Creek) on October 10, 1926, she is survived by her husband of 67 years, Walter J. Anker and their daughter Brenda Anker Vargo. Their son Walter Brent Anker is deceased. She was also preceded in death by her brother Carl Rexford Pelfrey.
She is survived by grandchildren Seth Vargo (Heather), Elizabeth Vargo, Jennifer Anker and Wade Vargo. Also two great grandchildren, Faith Vargo and Seth Andrew Vargo. Geraldine is also survived by her sister, Jeanette Ostermeyer and nieces and nephews.
Gerry was a member of Anthony Wayne First Church of God, the Martha’s and the DAV Auxillary #40. She volunteered sewing for the church and DVD and made hundreds of lap quilts for veterans. A wonderful cook for family and friends, Gerry was most famous for her wonderful pies.
Graveside services were held at Lindenwood Cemetery on Friday, December 14, 2012.
